Having worked and taught in the health care setting for 29 years, I believe that life experiences, combined with  education and work experiences, can prepare us to handle anything life tosses our way. I proved this in a life-altering incident of work-place violence in June, 1999, where I survived and thrived. Twelve years later, I am still asked to share the pearls of wisdom I have gained in speaking and  teaching engagements and one-on-one with so many. My oral and written communications will challenge you to ask the important questions you need to find your answers from within.

I have been working on a project to share some of my life lessons, to help others who have experienced trauma in their lives or that of a loved one.  As everyone's situation is so unique, I am envisioning a Book - Journal format, and my early formulations can be found at   mcjmusings

You can also find the latest information about a labor of love that I have been working on this last year for my great niece, Kylie Samantha on my blogsite.

Since joining HubPages, I have fallen in love with the community. I have found the more seasoned Hubbers willing to reach out to help, and I have been happy to do the same to some who have less experience (or confidence) than me! I am in awe at the diversity, yet universality, of the beautiful folks I continue to meet in my reading and commenting. What a thrill when some of you  voted me as one of the two "Hubbers Most Likely to Become a HubPages Employee" in the Hubbie awards, in August, 2011.  To me, a sense of teamwork and support is key and most evident at HP.

In my short time here, I have been honored:

** to receive a HubNugget for my first article Appreciating the Gift of Life - After Survival, in June, 2011.

** to share in the Best Poet award with some distinguished writers, in the first ever Hubbie awards, in August, 2011.

** to be featured in my friend, Sunnie Day's blog, Pen to Page, in September, 2011.

**to be featured in my friend, Raymond Choiniere's  (aka Cagsil) tribute to Women Writers on HubPages in February, 2012.

**to be featured in my friend, Vinaya Ghimire's Interview with marcoujor in March, 2012.

I have been very open with you in my life, if I think you have a gift for writing. If you do, you should consider giving Hub Pages a try.
